The following are the Rules and Structure of the tournament. By submitting payment and completing this form you are confirming you have read and understand/agree to the following:

– This is a bring your own team tournament meaning you will provide the team branding as well.
– We will be aiming to get 64 teams registered on both consoles to emulate the traditional March Madness style as close as possible, but if we do not have 64 teams registered by next Saturday, 3/28 we will be going with the first 32 teams that completed registration. Payment will be returned to any team potentially left out of that process.
– Rounds will be completed in 48 hour windows with a deadline of 2AM EST at the end of each round.
– Each round before the Final Four will be single elimination/best-of-one. The Final Four will be best-of-three and the Finals best-of-five.
– Teams will be sorted and randomly assigned seeds from 1-16 for each region.

– Max roster size for this tournament is 8ppl. You will be given one player addition for free during the tournament, all other additions to the roster will be charged $5 per player. Dropping a player is free.
– Players that have been registered to a team that played in the tournament may not switch to another team during the tournament.

– The entry fee for each team is $25. Team captains will be required to pay the full team fee to complete their registration and reserve their spot in the tournament.
– Roster adds are $5,

– Complete the Registration Form and it will take you to PayPal to pay the $25 entry fee.

– We will be following the rules listed here (unless otherwise listed above or below): https://tournaments.wr-league.com/rules/
– Any rule disputes will be handled by the tournament committee and any decisions handed down will be final.

– 32 teams for your console the payout to the winning team will be $600.
– 64 teams for your console the payout to the winning team will be $1200.
– All-Conference teams (5 players) will be selected for each console and will receive $10ea.
– The championship payout will be sent directly to the team captain that made the original team payment.

– Much like with March Madness, we will be offering an option for players and fans to predict who they think will win from each console. If your bracket is the most accurate you will find yourself receiving $30. Just a fun addition to the festivities.
– Brackets will be released with the “Selection Sunday” video.

  • Hours of operation: 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM eastern weekdays. Saturday and Sunday 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM eastern. @WRProAmLeague on Twitter should be contact for all issues.

  • Each team will have 5 roster spots available at registration. At registration players are required to have a primary position but can use any position as long as that player is on the roster.
  • If you play with a player not on your roster or violate any tournament specific rules your team will be forfeited with no refund.
  • Seeding: The seeding of each tournament will be the order of signups. E.g. signup last you’re the last seed, signup first you’re the 1 seed. Every round will last 48 hours. If games aren’t played within those 48 hours then it will be at admin’s discretion to continue the series or simulate.
  • Example: If tournament bracket is released on a Sunday, then each round will be 48 hours and the clock will begin at 8 am on Monday
    • Round 1 – Monday 8am eastern to Wednesday 8am eastern
    • Round 2 – Wednesday eastern 8am to Friday 8am eastern

Match Up Rules

  • Use these rules as a guideline for teams to solve issues on your own before bringing any issues to the commissioner.
  • The rules contained herein are intended to be explanatory in nature. WR cannot predict every case that may come up in advance. Additionally, unintended loopholes in the language may exist. If the technical language of a rule doesn’t fit with the intent of the rule, there’s a loophole, or other abusive behavior is occurring, WR reserves the right to amend and enforce any and all of its rules retroactively conforming to its intents and in the spirit of fair competition.
  • The WR commissioner’s ruling is final. By signing up for this tournament, you accept any and all decisions the WR commissioner makes regardless of what this rule page states.
  • All Tournament games must be played on Private Matchmaking mode.
  • You must play on the court with your registered team name and logos.
  • Solving server host disputes:
    • WR is an east server league. We will not enforce this in areas. If you play the games you accept the result. If we are pressed for which server to play on, we will rule east server. However, we will be disappointed you asked. Load up and play the game.
    • Note central and eastern time zones are east server; mountain and western time zones are west server.
    • If a team can definitively prove beyond reasonable doubt it has all east server players in the lineup then they will be ruled to be the host of all games.
    • If both teams prove they have all east server players OR both teams have a west server player, the series will alternate hosts with the higher seeded team hosting first. If neither team provides proof then the series will also alternate.
  • If a player lags out before tip off it is an automatic restart. Quit the game and contact the opposing team to match up again
  • The following rules apply ONLY to lag outs or other unforced 2K related errors. If you choose to quit out of a game in a tournament or playoff situation it may be a forfeit.
    • During the playoffs or during tournaments, if a lag out occurs you may be required to restart the game and play the time remaining with the same score differential at the time of the lag out.
      • Example: Team A is up 78-70 with the ball on Team B with four minutes remaining. Team B lags out. Team A and B must play the first four minutes of a new game, with Team A winning the tip and given a +8 advantage. (Round to nearest minute).
      • Do not count points to the spread that occur after the first player has quit/lagged out.
      • The team with a lag out must immediately quit as described above for this rule to apply.
      • This rule applies to the time out glitch and all lag outs. If a team is suspected to be repeatedly abusing this rule, WR reserves the right to not grant that team spreads and disqualify them. Final decision is commissioner’s. Teams are strongly encouraged to work it out themselves.
  • All games must be streamed on the registered Twitch account(s) and must include “WR Last Shot” in the stream title. All games must be archived in case admins have to review video. Every team must have a representative for their team in that Tournament’s Captain Chat. The Captain Chat will be on Discord.
  • The burden of proof for rules violations lies with the captains (video, audio, time stamped screen shots). WR is not required to track down proof itself and will not take a captain’s word for it.
  • 1st violation of above rules will result in forfeit without refund.
  • If a series begins it must end the same night. If a team signs off without consent, it is considered the same as conceding the series. The only exception would be if both teams agree AND you have attained admin consent to finish the series the next day; permission shall not be granted to extend the window for completion of each round.
  • Tournament Games that are not played are subject to be simulated where a random winner will be selected at the sole discretion of WR.

Timeliness Rules For Tournaments

  • The intent of the timeliness rule is to create a competitive environment that is respectful of an opponent’s and viewers’ time.
  • After a game time is established, create a chat with your opponent, and @WRProAmLeague twitter reporting the game time. Both teams must agree.
  • If you do not report your game times to WR in advance as described above, we will not enforce the on-time rules.
  • You must notify the opposing captain a minimum of 90 minutes in advance to reschedule. The scheduled series can only be pushed back a maximum of one (1) hour.
  • The primary accepted form of communication is Twitter for scheduling purposes as the captain and team twitter are listed on the website. Discord is also an accepted secondary form of communication and will be upheld as valid but twitter should be used for scheduling first. Xbox messages are not the correct way to contact teams.
  • Streams must be up within 30 minutes of the scheduled game time showing 5 players in the arena. If this does not happen, game 1 of the series will be forfeited.
  • Every 20 minutes after that a team is late will result in a forfeit of a game in the series.
    • Example: 50 minutes late will be an 0-2 deficit (series forfeiture if a 3 game series). 1:10 minutes late will be an entire 5 game series forfeiture.
  • WR reserves the right to not enforce the timeliness rule for any reason. Reasons WR may elect to not enforce the rule include but are not limited to first time offenders, it’s a late round of the tournament, the team is deemed to have a significant emergency situation (ex: incapacitated, hospitalized, etc.)
  • Spread rules are in effect (see spread rules section). But, you may not choose to quit out of the game. If you choose to quit out of the game for reasons such as “it feels laggy” repeatedly without the opponent agreeing, your team may be forfeited. The only acceptable reason to quit a game is that you lagged out or another reason beyond your control. You may be given one warning or forfeited at the discretion of WR.
  • If the game does not start within 10 minutes of both teams being in the arena, WR may elect to coin flip the series. If it is one team causing the hold up, WR may elect to forfeit the series. Teams should be respectful of the viewers’ time.

Reporting Results

  • After every game the winning team will submit the box score with the game results. Only one screenshot is needed from the winner which must include the stats for both teams.
  • Box score must be submitted by posting them in the Game Screenshot channel in the Tournament Discord Server. All games posted must be labeled.
  • We will only accept high quality images from Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. We will not accept blurry images or pics of your tv screen displaying the stats. Our stats team need to easily see the stats on the box score.
  • Format for labeling game screenshots in discord must be “Team A vs Team B”. Team A is the top team in the screenshot and Team B is the bottom team in the screenshot.
  • If a Win/Loss has been awarded to the wrong team then the team captain will contact an admin member with screenshot proof showing the game results. The admin member will then review and make changes accordingly if deemed necessary.

Tournament Payouts

  • First-Place tournament prize payouts will be $1200 or $600 based on 64 or 32 teams registered. Tournament may proceed with any amount of teams between 32-64 at the discretion of the tournament runner. First-Place prize will be adjusted based on 80% of total registrations minus PayPal fees.
  • Tournament winners will receive the cash prize detailed above; responsibility for distribution of winnings falls entirely upon team captains unless the captain has told WR to do otherwise.
