TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • All WR league tournament/playoff rules (click here), terms of service (click here) and privacy policies (click here) apply except as modified on this tournament landing page.
  • All Rounds are Best of 3.
  • 48 hours per round beginning at 8am Eastern every round
  • NBA 2K21 5 vs 5 Pro-Am Tournament (PS5 and XBX).
  • Every game must be streamed on the registered twitch and the stream must be archived. The stream of the tournament must be available to non-subscribers of the twitch channel.
  • After games have been completed the winning team must post all game results (including losses) in discord screenshot channel in team a vs team b format. This ensures the proper team gets credit for games.
  • Any time during this tournament all participants are subject to mic checks by admin team.
  • There will be no account sharing. Play on your registered account on your registered team.  Accounts cannot play on multiple teams, subject to immediate forfeit.
  • Box scores will be checked every game to ensure registered players are on team rosters. If found playing with players not on a roster that will be a forfeit.
  • The registration fee will be $80 per team. There are no refunds for any reason.
  • The minimum prize pool is $1,000. 16 team minimum.
  • Every team must have the WR Pro-Am League logo must also be on the court one of the sides or the arena logo. The logo can be found by searching for WRLeague on NBA 2K21 on both consoles. Not having one of this logo on the court may result in a warning or a forfeit.

TOURNAMENT RULES

  • WR Hours of Operation: 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM eastern weekdays. Saturday and Sunday 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM eastern. In the event of any issues, please contact @WRProAmLeague via Twitter.
  • Any team that plays in a tournament must have passed team registration and paid the tournament Registration Fee. Home jersey must be predominantly white or light gray. Away jersey can be any color except white or light gray. Every team court must have the provided WR logo on it. Such images are to be used only for court and jersey imagery. Courts must be all wood, but color is permitted in the paint and apron.
  • Each team will have five (5) roster spots available at registration. At registration, each player is required to have a primary position, but players will be permitted to use any position as long as the player playing such position is on the team’s roster.
  • Each participant may only play on one team at a time per console, and may only use one (1) gamertag/psn through the Tournaments. You may not play on multiple teams with multiple accounts A participant may, however, register multiple gamertags for a single team on behalf of other participants.
  • If you play with a player not on your roster or violate any tournament specific rules your team will be forfeited with no refund.
  • Seeding: The seeding of each Tournament will be the order of signups (e.g., the team that completes registration last will be seeded as the lowest ranked team, and the team that completes registration first will be seeded as the highest ranked team). Each round will last 48 hours. If games aren’t played within those 48 hours, then it will be at the WR administrator’s discretion to continue the series or simulate.
  • Example: If tournament bracket is released on a Sunday, then each round will be 48 hours and the clock will begin at 8 am on Monday
    • Round 1 – Monday 8am eastern to Wednesday 8am eastern
    • Round 2 – Wednesday eastern 8am to Friday 8am eastern
    • Round 3 – Friday 8am eastern to Sunday 8am eastern
    • Round 4 – Sunday 8am eastern to Tuesday 8am eastern
    • Round 5 – Tuesday 8am eastern to Thursday 8am eastern (if necessary)
    • Round 6 – Thursday 8am eastern to Saturday 8am eastern (if necessary)
Match Up Rules
  • Participants must use these rules as a guideline for teams to solve issues on their own before bringing any issues to WR’s commissioner @WRProAmLeague via Twitter.
  • The Rules are intended to be explanatory in nature. WR cannot predict every case that may come up in advance. Additionally, unintended loopholes in the language may exist. If the technical language of a rule does not align with WR’s intent of the given rule, there’s an unanticipated loophole, or other abusive behavior is occurring, WR reserves the right to amend and enforce any and all of its rules retroactively conforming to its intents and in the spirit of fair competition.
  • The WR commissioner will make a determination as to the outcome of any dispute (in his/her sole discretion) and such ruling will be final. By signing up for this Tournament, you accept any and all decisions that the WR commissioner makes, regardless of what this rule page states.
  • Any rules posted on @WRProAmLeague Twitter under the hashtag #WRRules are enforceable, in addition to this rules page and the Terms of Service. Any discrepancies in rules will be left to commissioner’s final ruling.
  • All Tournament games must be played on Private Matchmaking Pro-Am game mode.
  • You must play on the court with your registered team name and logos.
  • Solving server host disputes:
    • All WR playoff/tournament games will alternate if both teams are on North American servers. Higher seed will always have the option to host Game 1, lower seed Game 2, and so on until the final game of the series.
    • The final game of the series host option will be based on point differential.
      • Example for a Best of 3:
        • Game 1: Team A (higher seed) hosts and wins 78-70 (+8 to Team A).
        • Game 2: Team B (lower seed) hosts and  wins 87-70 (+17 to Team B).
        • Game 3: Team B [has higher point differential (+9)] hosts Game 3.
        • Tie in point differential will favor the higher seed.
    • If a team quits a tournament/playoff game early, they will net -50 points. The max point differential if quitting early will be 50, the 50 will not be added on top of the current difference.
      • Example: Team A (higher seed) hosts and is winning 78-58 with 3 minutes to play and all 5 players from Team B quits. That will be a total of +50 point differential in favor of Team A.
      • All 5 players must quit for this rule to apply. If a single player remains in the game the team that is winning should remain in the game.
    • If there is a dispute on server, commissioner’s ruling will be final regardless of what these rules state.
    • WR recommends as a strategy to designate at least one player to remain in the game until the game clock strikes zero to avoid any mishaps and grab the screen shot.
    • Note central and eastern time zones are east server; mountain and western time zones are west server.
  • If a player lags out or disconnects before tip-off, the applicable game will be subject to an automatic restart. Players will be required to quit the game and contact the opposing team to match up again.
  • The following rules apply ONLY to lag outs, disconnections, or other unforced 2K game-related errors. If you choose to quit out of a game in a Tournament it may be considered a forfeit, as determined by WR in its sole discretion.
    • During a Tournament, if such an error occurs, a participant may be required to restart the game and play the time remaining with the same score differential at the time of such error.
      • Example: Team A is up 78-70 with the ball on Team B with four minutes remaining. Team B lags out. Team A and B must play the first four minutes of a new game, with Team A winning the tip and given a +8 advantage. (Round to nearest minute).
      • Do not count points to the spread that occur after the first player has quit/lagged out.
      • The team with a lag out must immediately quit as described above for this rule to apply.
      • This rule applies to the time out glitch and all lag outs. If a team is suspected to be repeatedly abusing this rule, WR reserves the right to not grant that team spreads and disqualify them. Final decision will be made by the WR commissioner, in his/her sole discretion. Teams are strongly encouraged to work it out themselves prior to escalating to the WR commissioner.
  • All games must be streamed on the registered Twitch account(s) and must include “WR The Countdown” in the stream title. All games must be archived in the event WR administrators need to review game play. Every team must have a representative from their team in the Tournament’s Captain Chat. The Captain Chat will be on Discord.
    • Teams must remove any and all content related to the Tournaments, including but not limited to streams, clips, and graphics if requested by WR for any reason without warning or explanation.
    • WR has the right, but not the obligation to host or promote streams of Tournament play and can opt against doing so for any reason without warning or explanation.
  • The Competition Committee is a council of volunteer WR players which discuss and debate necessary rules to ensure fair and competitive play in the community. No member of the Competition Committee is on WR staff.
    • Game altering glitches and exploits are prohibited on a case by case basis as they become known to the staff and after a review by the WR Competition Committee to determine the fairness and enforce-ability of the game abuse. Such additional game play rules will be announced on @WRProAmLeague twitter with the #WRRules and may be introduced in the middle of the season if warranted by the Competition Committee.
    • Current rules are as follows:
      • Utilizing between the legs “dribble exploit” 3 or more times consecutively with any Moving Crossover Signature Style will be considered a violation. The punishment will be handled on a case by case basis. A forfeit will generally only be awarded if the exploit is deemed to have impacted the game result. Video proof required and you must finish the game to protest the result. Commissioner ruling is final.
      • The badge Heart Crusher is currently banned and should not be equipped at any level. The punishment will be handled on a case by case basis. A forfeit will generally only be awarded if the exploit is deemed to have impacted the game result. Video proof required and you must finish the game to protest the result. Commissioner ruling is final.
  • If a team begins a game knowing the opponent is in violation of any league rule, that team is automatically accepting the results of that game.
  • The burden of proof for rules violations lies with each team captain (video, audio, time stamped screen shots may be provided as relevant evidence). WR is not required to track down proof itself and will not take a captain’s word for it.
  • To send a dispute of a game result or report incorrectly recorded games, visit https://wr-league.com/support. WR will not make any decisions or accept any proof of disputes on the Twitter timeline or via direct messages.
  • By participating in any WR event you are agreeing to not defame WR on any form of social media, news outlet or otherwise. We will respond to concerns in DM’s, the ticket support system, or email NOT public social media.
  • Before submitting any violations, please have carefully reviewed the rules to ensure it is actually a violation. Repeatedly submitting fake violations will result in removal of your team from the league with no refund.
    • 1st violation of above rules will result in a warning or forfeit. The 2nd violation will result in removal from the league NO REFUND will be given.
    • WR reserves the right to modify punishments as it sees fit. Punishments range from fines to suspension and are determined on a case by case basis.
    • All infractions against the terms of service or this rules page will result in a strike against the captain and/or player involved over the course of their lifetime participation in WR. Three strikes will result in a suspension or ban from the league at the discretion the Commissioner. A brand, captain or player must play a full season without a strike to get a strike removed from their lifetime participation. WR reserves the right to revise any punishment as it sees fit on a case by case basis.
  • If a series begins it must end the same night. If a team signs off without consent, it is considered the same as conceding the series in which is was participating at the time of such premature signoff. The only exception would be if both teams agree AND each team captain has obtained the prior written consent of a WR administrator to finish the series the next day; permission shall not be granted to extend the window for completion of each round.
  • If Tournament games that are not played during the applicable rounds, as set forth above, WR may simulate such game and draw a random winner at the sole discretion of WR.
Timeliness Rules For Tournaments
  • The intent of the timeliness rule is to create a competitive environment that is respectful of opponents’ and viewers’ time.
  • Team captains must work collaboratively with the captain of the opposing team to determine a mutually agreeable date and time for each series. If a suitable game time cannot be mutually determined by the participating teams, WR will set a time in its sole discretion.
  • Tournament and playoff games must be scheduled to tip off by 12:30 AM eastern. The exception would be if both teams agree to start at a later time.
  • After a game time is established, at least one (1) team captain from the two opposing teams must create a chat with the opposing team captain and @WRProAmLeague twitter reporting the game time. The opposing team captain must then provide written consent to such game time.
  • If a team captain does not report a game time to WR in advance as described above, WR will not enforce the on-time rules against such team’s opponent.
  • A team captain must notify the opposing team captain a minimum of ninety (90) minutes in advance of any scheduled game time to request to reschedule any such game. The scheduled series may only be pushed back a maximum of one (1) hour from the initially agreed upon start time.
  • The primary accepted form of communication during the Tournament is Twitter for scheduling purposes as each team captain and team Twitter handle is listed on the website. Discord is also an accepted secondary form of communication and will be upheld as valid if the other team responds, but Twitter should be used for scheduling first. Xbox One and/or PlayStation Network messages (as applicable) should not be used to contact opposing teams.
    • To find the Twitter handle of the captain of the opposing team, click view team rosters on the bracket page.
  • Streams must be up within thirty (30) minutes of the agreed upon game time (“Arrival Time”), with each of the five (5) players from each team showing in the arena. If this does not happen, game 1 of the series will be forfeited.
  • Every twenty (20) minutes after the Arrival Time that a team is late will result in a forfeit of a game in the series.
    • Example: 50 minutes late will be an 0-2 deficit (series forfeiture if a 3-game series). 1:10 minutes late will be an entire 5 game series forfeiture.
  • WR reserves the right to not enforce the timeliness rule for any reason. Reasons WR may elect to not enforce the rule include but are not limited to first time offenders, it’s a late round of the tournament, the team is deemed to have a significant emergency situation (ex: incapacitated, hospitalized, etc.)
  • Spread rules are in effect (see spread rules in Matchup Rules section), but a participant may not choose to quit out of the game without the opposing team’s consent. If you choose to quit out of the game for reasons such as “it feels laggy” repeatedly without the opponent agreeing, your team may be forfeited. The only acceptable reason to quit a game is that you actually lagged out or another reason beyond your control. You may be given one warning or forfeited at the discretion of WR.
  • If the game does not start within ten (10) minutes of both teams (including the required five (5) players per team) being in the arena, WR may randomly select a winner of the series. If it is one team causing the hold up, WR may elect to forfeit the series. Teams should be respectful of the viewers’ time.
Reporting Results
  • The winning team of the series must submit ALL game results for that series, included the losses. Failure to comply with this rule may result in a forfeit.
  • Box score must be submitted by posting them in the Game Screenshot channel in the WR Discord Server. All games posted must be labeled using the following naming convention <Team_Name> vs. <Opponent_Name>: Game <Game_Number>.
  • We will only accept high quality images from Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, as applicable. We will not accept blurry images or pics of your tv screen displaying the stats. Our stats team need to easily see the stats on the box score.
  • Format for labeling game screenshots in Discord must be “Team A vs Team B”. Team A is the top team in the screenshot and Team B is the bottom team in the screenshot.
  • If a Win/Loss has been awarded to the wrong team then the team captain will contact an admin member with screenshot proof showing the game results. The admin member will then review and make changes accordingly if deemed necessary.
  • Posting results on Twitter is strongly encouraged for your own social media marketing benefit. However, it is insufficient for reporting tournament results. You must use the discord.
  • If during tournaments you have exhausted all efforts to schedule the game and your opponent has not set a time, post proof on Discord before the end of the round (but not more than 8 hours before the end of the round).
Account Sharing
  • All gamertags/psn’s on a team’s roster must be valid. The gamertag/psn must be legitimately owned by the user on the roster.
  • Legitimate ownership: You may not share, buy, sell, rent, trade, or transfer to acquire any account on the roster. The actual owner of the account must play on it.
  • A team may not allow an individual who is not the registered owner of an account to play on that account in a game and/or you may not play in a game while logged in to an account registered to someone else.
  • Opponents are responsible for identifying violations of these rules in advance of playing the game. It is not the responsibility of the WR staff to police your game.
  • An opponent should identify a violation by requesting a mic chek before playing the game. If it is clearly not the correct person on the account, you can request to wait until they have a legitimate team. Timeliness rules will still be in effect.
  • Proof must be provided to support any claims of an ineligible player playing in a game.
    • The proof must be clear to read/hear and not edited, cropped or otherwise tampered with.
    • Video proof is necessary. Text forms of proof are unlikely to be accepted if not overwhelming.
    • When disputing account use, you MUST have proof to back up your claims. You cannot dispute without providing valid proof. If you do not have proof to support your claims, you should NOT dispute. Disputing without providing valid proof may result in you getting banned.
Conduct

WR has zero tolerance for any behavior that: (a) is sexually explicit, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; (b) is obscene or offensive, or may create public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule; (c) defames or invades publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringes upon any third party’s or prize provider’s personal or intellectual property rights or contain disparaging remarks about other people or companies; (d) is inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which WR wishes to associate, as determined by such parties in their sole and absolute discretion; and/or (e) otherwise violates the terms of any of the agreements that the participants have agreed to comply with as participants in the Tournament(s), these official Rules, Sony Group Code of Conduct, PlayStation Network’s Code of Conduct, Microsoft’s Code of Conduct, Xbox’s Community Standards, Twitter’s Terms of Service, The Twitter Rules, Twitch’s Terms of Service, Twitch’s Community Guidelines, Discord’s Terms of Service, and Discord’s Community Guidelines. In the event a participant engages in any of the foregoing, WR will have the right to remove such participants from the Tournament and may impose other consequences, including disqualification from any and all existing and future programs of WR.

Tournament Prizing
  • First-Place tournament prize payouts will be calculated as 70% of the registration fees net of the transaction fees and any refunds. The amount of the prize pool if over the minimum will be determined at the time the brackets are released.
  • Tournament winners will receive the cash prize detailed above; responsibility for distribution of winnings falls entirely upon team captains unless the captain has told WR to do otherwise.
